Assam Guv greets teachers on eve of Teachers’ Day

Guwahati, Sep 4 (PTI) Assam Governor BanwarilalPurohit today greeted teachers and urged people to bow as amark of respect and gratitude to the selfless servicesrendered by them. "Teachers are the edifice on which the entire societyhinges and the future of a nation is intrinsically associatedwith the teachers. On this day, I offer my heartfelt gratitudeto the unique and unparallelled role of the teachers," theGovernor said in a statement here on the eve of Teachers’ Day. On this occasion the society should bow as a mark ofrespect and gratitude to the selfless services of theteachers, he said. "Celebrations of Teachers’ Day commemorating the birthanniversary of the great philosopher, scholar and guide DrSarvepalli Radhakrishnan is a fitting acknowledgement to theimmense contribution of our teachers," he said.
