Additional Sessions Judge Vikas Dhull passed the orderyesterday after the counsel for 21-year-old accused RishabhRawat sought to withdraw the plea. The incident took place on the morning of June 13 thisyear when two persons, including an elderly man, were killedand another was critically injured after they were knockeddown by a speeding car allegedly driven by the student in ahighly inebriated state in west Delhi’s Janakpuri area. The defence counsel sought bail contending that sections308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) or 304 (culpablehomicide not amounting to murder) of the IPC were not made outand his client was in custody for nearly three months. He also claimed the accused did not intend to kill the twopersons. The bail plea, however, was opposed by victims’ counselwho said the allegations against the accused were grave. He said the victims were on a morning walk when theaccident took place. "The matter is grave in nature and no concession should begiven to the accused. According to the police, the incident took place around6.30 AM when Rishabh, a resident of Janakpuri and son of abusinessman, was returning from a party at a friend’s house inwest Delhi’s Hari Nagar area and was driving his father’sHonda City car at a speed over 100 Kmph.
