India steps up its offence against Pak on Balochistan

Date:

Geneva, Sep 16 (PTI) Stepping up its offencive againstPakistan on the Balochistan issue at the UN Human RightsCouncil, India today said Pakistan is a nation that practisesterrorism on its own people and the sufferings of the peopleof Balochistan are a telling testimony in this regard. Exercising its right of reply, India, raising theBalochistan issue second time in three days at the UNHRC, saidthe irony of a nation that has established a well-earnedreputation of being the global epicentre of terrorism holdingforth on human rights. "It surely is the height of hypocrisy for a Governmentthat preaches, practises, encourages and nurtures terrorism toventure into the subject of human rights," India said. In the last two decades, the most wanted terrorists of theworld have found succour and sustenance in Pakistan. Thistradition unfortunately continues even today, not surprisingwhen its Government employs terrorism as an instrument ofstate policy, India said. The current disturbances in the Indian state of Jammu andKashmir have their origins in the death in police action of aself-proclaimed terrorist commander of Hizbul Mujahideen withlinks to the ‘deep state’ across the border, it added.
