Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially filed nomination papers from the Varanasi parliamentary constituency on Tuesday, for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
According to the affidavit submitted, PM Modi possesses movable assets valued at Rs 3.02 crore, along with Rs 52,920 in cash. The Prime Minister does not own any land, house, or car. However, his taxable income has seen a significant rise, doubling from Rs 11 lakh in the fiscal year 2018-19 to Rs 23.5 lakh in 2022-23.
Among his notable financial holdings, PM Modi has a Fixed Deposit amounting to Rs 2,85,60,338 in the State Bank of India. Additionally, he possesses four gold rings with a total worth of Rs 2,67,750.
PM Modi in his affidavit also disclosed mobile phone number and email contact. “My contact telephone number is 8980809224, and my e-mail ID narendramodi@narendramodi.in,” PM Modi affidavit read.
PM Modi, who previously contested and won from Varanasi in 2014, and 2019 as the NDA’s prime ministerial candidate, is now vying for a third consecutive term from the constituency. The elections for Varanasi are scheduled to be held on June 1 during the seventh and final phase of the election process.
During his nomination filing, PM Modi was accompanied by his four proposers, namely Pandit Ganeshwar Shastri, Lalchand Kushwaha, Baijnath Patel, and Sanjay Sonkar.
