Woman, servant killed during robbery attempt

Jalandhar, Sep 20 (PTI) A 50-year-old woman and her maleservant were killed after being allegedly hit with hockeysticks by a group of robbers in Model Town area here today,police said. The group of five to six robbers barged into the house ofSujata Handa this evening, they said, adding the woman and herservant Harish (38), however, tried to resist the robberyattempt. The robbers then hit the duo with hockey sticks, policesaid. While the servant died on the spot, the woman succumbedon her way to the hospital. Investigation is on in the matter, police added.PTI SRTSRY
