M Tech, B Tech, post graduates among police constables

\ Chandigarh, Oct 26 (PTI) Candidates who have done M Tech,\B Tech and post graduation were among more than 7,000\successful candidates who have been selected as police\constables in Punjab.\ Police said 7,173 candidates have been selected as\constables in the Recruitment of Constables– 2016, the results\of which were declared today.\ The successful candidates include 162 post graduates,\six M Tech, 153 B Tech, 1,181 graduates and 261 diploma\holders, an official spokesman said.\ He said about 85 per cent of the candidates\selected are in the age group of 19-26 years. This percentage\in Armed Police Cadre (male) is 80 per cent, District Police\Cadre (male) is 83 per cent and in District Police Cadre\(female) is 97 per cent.\ The addition of 7,173 constables to the State Police\Force would give a fillip to the resolve of the Punjab\Police to conduct the 2017 Assembly elections in a free, fair\and transparent manner, the spokesman said.\ \\"Their training course is expected to begin from 15th\November onwards,\\" he added.
