TN aims Rs 10600 cr revenue from registration depart this yr

\ Chennai, Oct 26 (PTI) The state government has set a\target of collecting Rs 10,600 crore revenue through the\registration department during the current financial year.\ \\"The department has generated revenues of Rs 8,562.38\crore during 2015-16. For 2016-17, it has been set Rs 10,600\crore and as of September 30, it has clocked revenues of Rs\4,184.40 crore,\\" an official statement quoting Commercial\Taxes Minister K C Veeramani said.\ On the construction of new buildings to house Sub\Registrar offices, he said the government had announced\the construction which include 25 integrated complexes and 162\independent buildings at a cost of Rs 128.02 crore.\ \\"Currently 16 integrated complexes and 116 sub registrar\offices are functioning while three more integrated complexes\and 27 Sub Registrar offices are getting ready for\inauguration\\", he said.\ In the current financial year, it has been decided to\construct an additional five new sub-registrar offices at a\cost of Rs 4.13 crore.\ Noting that the registration department holds\significance in generating revenues for the government, the\minister directed the officials to ensure the target revenues\were achieved.
