3 APMC employees held with \\’unaccountable\\’ cash

\ Nashik, Oct 27 (PTI) Three staffers of the Agriculture\Produce Market Committee (APMC) here were arrested for\allegedly possessing \\"unaccountable\\" cash worth\Rs 57.73 lakhs, Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials said\today.\ Accountant Arvind Jain, clerk Digambar Chikhale and steno\Vijay Nikam were trapped by sleuths of Nashik ACB unit\yesterday at Panchavati locality here, Superintendent of\Police, ACB Nashik, Daulat Jadhav said in a press note.\ Acting on a tip off that the trio had withdrawn a hefty\amount of Rs 57.73 lakhs from a local cooperative bank, a trap\was laid and the \\"unaccountable\\" cash was recovered from their\car. When quizzed about the huge sum, they could not give a\satisfactory answer and were subsequently held.\ The accused were produced before a local court yesterday\which remanded them to ACB\\’s custody till October 29, the\release said.\ The employees have been booked under relevant sections of\the Anti Corruption Act.
