National Green Tribunal on Tuesday directed all the airline companies to stop releasing human waste mid air or while landing and takeoff.

The airplanes are subjected to surprise check after landing and if the tank found empty the airlines can be fined up to 50000 rupees said the tribunal.
The rule came in effect by the court after a petition filed by a retired army officer who lives near Delhi Airport. He said the walls and floors of his terrace is full of excreta patches.

The aviation ministry who contested the petition said that the tanks stored in airplanes to collect human excreta are only cleared after landing by the ground staff.
Pilot of a major airline company said newsmobile that mid air emptying of tanks are very rare procedure in cases of emergency.
While in the mid air the formulae is used in the tanks to deodorize and freeze human waste before emptying sometimes and it’s called Blue Ice.
Blue Ice falling from the sky is not very rare.
