Mumbai to Goa train to have LCD screens, celeb chefs and more

Date:

Like Mumbai To Goa was the longest train journey one could be in (obviously not), the passengers will now also be spoilt for choices: cuisines curated by celebrity chefs, tea and coffee vending machines and individual LCD screens. Yes, you read that right!

Railways will unveil a new premier train service between Mumbai and Goa in June with state-of-the-art facilities, called the Tejas Express. Comprising executive class and chair cars, Tejas coaches will be equipped with 22 new features, including fire and smoke detection and suppression systems and the improved aesthetics.

A very first for the Indian railways, 20 coach Tejas express will have automatic doors and secured gangways for all coaches. Currently automatic doors are only operational in metros; guess it’s a good time to be alive to experience the change.

The Indian Railways rolled out a tweet to suggest what they were doing:

This is a great direction that public transport in India is taking, for not only is it fixing the errors in the system that are already present, but is also allowing companies across the globe to know that investing in India is a smart move.
