SSB apprehends Nepalese drug smuggler; seizes drugs worth Rs 75 lakh

The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) on Monday has arrested a Nepalese woman for smuggling drugs from Nepal into India. The Nepalese national was apprehended at the Sonauli check post on the India-Nepal border during a routine check.

The SSB seized 6.4 kg of charas from the woman’s possession, which is worth Rs 75 lakh. The woman admitted to smuggling the drugs during interrogation and also revealed her links with other drug runners in India. The SSB will coordinate with Nepal police to act on the information provided by the arrested woman.

The Nepalese woman has been charged under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act and is being held at the Sonauli Police Station.
