Indian Hockey Team thrashes Pak, Cricket team gets thrashed

The two sports event (Hockey, Cricket) between arch rivals India and Pakistan proved to be a contrary and one-sided affair for both the teams in their respective sports on Sunday. While India thrashed Pakistan completely in Hockey World League with the score of 7-1, Pakistan proved to be too strong against India in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 defeating India with a huge margin of 180 runs.

India achieved a comfortable win against Pakistan with Akashdeep Singh, Talwinder Singh and Harmanpreet Singh completely dominating the game and scoring 7 goals to 1 against Pakistan.

On contrary to the results in Hockey, India was devastated by Pakistan’s performance in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 Finals. Pakistan defeated India by a mammoth margin of 180 runs.

The underdogs Pakistan put up a big total of 338 on the scoring board with the efforts of opening duo Fakhar Zaman who scored his first century 114(106) and Azhar Ali 59(71).

While middle order disappointed Pakistan yet again, but 5th wicket partnership between Mohammad Hafeez* 57(37) and Imad Wasim* 25(21) ensured Pakistan to go well past the projected score of 330.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/44) proved to be the only economical bowler from India and bowled disciplined deliveries in the death over.

India’s ‘Super TrioRohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli, top scorers of the tournament failed terribly in the top order and collapsed by scoring just 0, 22, 9 respectively after an excellent spell by Mohammad Amir 3/16.

The only appreciable effort from Indian side was put up by Hardik Pandya 76 (43) with 4 boundaries and 6 sixes in the middle order, unfortunately, he was run out after a mix-up from the other end by Ravinder Jadeja.

Pakistan proved to be the ultimate champion after a well-deserved performance in the tournament after losing to India in the first match of the tournament. With this victory, Pakistan also ended much -awaited victory against India in an ICC event after 8 years.
