Macron blames ‘greedy’ leaders for troubles of the world, invites researchers to France

The French President, Emmanuel Macron blamed some “greedy leaders” for the troubles that the world is facing on issues like, terrorism and climate change.

While interacting with the students at Delhi’s Bikaner House, the French President said, “Most of the issues we have today, on climate and terrorism are because of the short-term vision of most of the leaders. They were greedy.”

He further said the world is in the middle of a digital revolution and climate change and it needs to respond to them quickly.

“We are in the middle of revolution on digital era and climate change. We need more speed. What we need is a change in mindset, facilitate entrepreneurship and increase risk takers’ numbers,” President Macron said.

“Artificial Intelligence is big game changer but you need to start it from the ground,” he added.

The French President emphasized on the need for boosting people to people exchange between Indian and France.

“I think we need more exchange between our people and students. I want most of the researchers to come to France and I am happy to be here today,” he said.

President Macron arrived in India on Thursday for a four-day visit.

Prime Minister Modi had visited France in June last year.
