While the ruling Congress Party is trying to retain power in Karnataka, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leaving no stone unturned to seize the southern state from it.

Meanwhile, the announcement of dates sparked a controversy as BJP’s IT Cell head Amit Malviya tweeted the date of polling and result at least 15-minutes before Chief Election Commissioner OP Rawat announced it at the presser.

Though Malviya later deleted the tweet, CEC assured of taking action against the leak.

“Certain things may have leaked for which Election Commission will take appropriate action,” Chief Election Commissioner OP Rawat said on the question how BJP’s IT Cell head Amit Malviya had put dates of Karnataka elections on social media.

Meanwhile, certain news channel also announced the dates before the Chief Election Commissioner officially announced the dates at the press conference.
