Sensex, Nifty end higher on the govt’s decision to raise MSP

The 30-share BSE Sensex gained in the second half of the trading session on Wednesday to close 0.75% higher at 35,645.40. The broader Nifty50 surged 70 points or 0.65% to settle at 10,769.90.

The markets reacted positively to the government’s decision to increase the Minimum Support Price of Kharif crop.  Both indexes ended at their highest closing levels since June 22, led by auto, bank and energy stocks despite weak global cues.
