The touchscreen school tab technology is used in schools to keep a tap on the attendance of the teachers, however, one school in Chattisgarh left some teachers surprised after what they saw on the tabs.
Around 50,000 tables were distributed in all government schools in Chattisgarh by the HRD ministry which have now got infected by a virus after a principal allegedly clicked on a spam that opened into a porn site under the project named Shalakosh. Since then, whoever turns on the tablets can see a a pornographic picture popping up on the screen.
All teachers, and especially female teachers are now afraid of switching these devices or using them. The ideal role of the devices is of the in-built scanners on which the teachers are supposed to place their thumb to mark their attendance.
Orders have been issued by education officers of the district to prohibit the use of the tablets till the time the problem is fixed.
