As a tribute to soldiers, people form a 700-kilometre long chain in Rajasthan

Date:

In honour of the Indian soldiers who lost their lives to save the country and to imbibe the spirit of patriotism, on August 14, a human chain of about four lakh people has been formed around the border districts of Rajasthan that include Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar, Jaisalmer, and Barmar.

The total stretch of the chain is 700 kilometres and it spreads along the India-Pakistan border. The chain started from Bikaner followed by the other three districts.

The event has been supported by the Indian Army and the Border Security Force and organized under the state government’s programme ‘Shahadat ko Salaam’.

Tricoloured flags and balloons have been used by the people and folk artists are also a part of the event. The Superintendent Police of Jaisalmer, Jagdish Prasad Sharma has confirmed all arrangements that have been made to make the event a huge success.
