Check out this new feature on two inter-city trains in Mumbai

Date:

A new feature has been introduced on two inter-city trains in Mumbai. For passengers travelling in the monthly season ticket coaches in two inter-city express trains can read books free of cost from the new libraries set up which need to be returned at the time of deboarding the trains.

The Central Railway has taken the initiative to launch ‘Library on Wheels’ on Mumbai-Pune Deccan Queen and Mumbai-Manmad Panchvati Express.

The feature was inaugurated on October 16, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of former President APJ Abdul Kalam. The day is also observed as Vachan Prerna Din. The Rajya Marathi Vikas Sanstha is bearing the entire cost of the feature.

One volunteer has been appointed for each train to distribute the books to the season ticket holders without any cost and collect the books from them before their arrival at their station.
