Sensex recovers to end 331.50 points up; Nifty closes at 10,582.50

Benchmark indices recovered on Tuesday with the Sensex settling 331.50 points higher at 35,144.49 and the Nifty ending 100.30 points up at 10,582.50 amid easing crude oil prices and strong recovery in the rupee.

However, most Asian markets ended lower and the dollar hit a 16-month peak. The rupee on Tuesday strengthened 37 paise to 72.52 (intra-day) against the US dollar. Brent crude traded 0.98% lower at $69.43 per barrel.
