The Supreme Court had on November 12 rapped the Bihar Police for failing to arrest the former minister and directed the DGP to appear before it in person on November 27 if she was not nabbed by then.

On November 16, the Begusarai court, had declared Verma an ‘absconder’ and the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Majaul passed an order to attach her properties, invoking Sections 82 and 83 of Code of Criminal Procedure. The Bihar Police, on Sunday, concluded the two-day operation of attaching Verma’s properties.

The shelter home rape case pertains to the alleged sexual harassment of 44 girls residing at the state-run shelter home.
