‘Aankhen 2’: Saif Ali Khan to join Amitabh Bachchan and Jacqueline Fernandez

After over a decade of the release of the thriller film Aakhen which starred Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Arjun Rampal, the makers are gearing up for its sequel.

Days after it was reported that megastar Amitabh Bachchan will be back for the sequel, featuring Jacqueline Fernandez in a lead role, Saif Ali Khan is also approached to play a part in the movie, according to sources.

Aankhen 2 will be directed by Anees Bazmee and from the first part Big B and Paresh Rawal have been retained.

Talking about his upcoming directorial, Anees recently confirmed that they have almost finalised the whole cast of the film and Big B has been signed officially.

About Saif Ali Khan been finalised for this project, a source revealed , “Both of them had been planning to collaborate for a few years. The filmmaker was looking to cast someone for the second male lead and approached Saif with the script.

The Nawab of Pataudi will essay a role similar to what Akshay Kumar had portrayed in the first part. Saif has been a part of successful thrillers such as the Race franchise. So, he jumped at this offer.” The source also mentioned that the makers of Aankhen 2 were looking out for an actor who is in his late 40s and Saif seemed to fit the role perfectly

Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan will be seen in the second part of the viral web series, Sacred Games in which he plays a cop named Sartaj Singh. Also, he is shooting for Ajay Devgn’s period film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.
