Congress’ Priya Dutt files nomination for Mumbai North Central Lok Sabha seat

Congress leader Priya Dutt, on Monday, filed her name for the Mumbai North Central Lok Sabha seat for the upcoming general elections. She was accompanied by her brother Sanjay Dutt, her husband Owen Roncon and her son at the Bandra (E) Collector’s office.

Before filing her nomination, she visited Siddhivinayak Temple in the morning and later tweeted, “Visited Siddhivinayak Temple today morning to seek His blessings and to guide me on the path of righteousness for the greater good.”

“With your blessings I will be filing my nomination from 29-Mumbai North Central Parliamentary Constituency as a Congress-NCP and others alliance Candidate on 8th April, 2019. Let’s all come together in large numbers to mark this occasion,” Priya had tweeted earlier.

Priya Dutt is the Congress-NCP candidate from the Mumbai North Central constituency and she will be contesting against BJP’s sitting MP Poonam Mahajan, who had defeated her in 2014 Lok Sabha polls. Dutt was elected in 2004 and 2009 before losing in 2014.

On the other hand, actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar will also file her nomination from Mumbai North constituency for upcoming Lok Sabha Elections on Monday.

“Making this new chapter in my life official. Send me your Support and Blessings as I file my nomination today,” Urmila tweeted.

Maharashtra, which has 48 Lok Sabha constituencies, will vote in four phases – April 11, 18, 23 and 29. Results for all Lok Sabha seats will be announced on May 23.
