No! This video of people celebrating Modi’s victory is not from Balochistan

Date:

After BJP’s thumping victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha Election, a video went viral on social media in which people can be seen celebrating with a BJP flag.

The claim is being made that the video is from Pakistan(Balochistan)

The caption of the video read: “भाजपा की पाकिस्तान मे पहली शाखा खुल चुकी है । भारत मे तो अक्सर ग़द्दार भारतीय पाकिस्तानी झंडे लहराते रहे है पर आज तबियत ख़ुश हो गई ये दृश्य देखकर ।”

(Translation- BJP has opened its first branch in Pakistan. In India, often waving Pakistani Indian flags, but now it is pleasant to see this view.)

FACT CHECK

When the team of fact-checkers at NewsMobile did a fact check on the video, we found that the video is authentic but the claim is FAKE.

On putting key screengrabs of the video through Reverse Image Search, we found the original video on BJP Jammu and Kashmir’s official Twitter handle.

In the video, the crowd can be seen sloganeering for BJP’s Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency candidate Sofi Yousuf who had filed his nomination in Anantnag.

Hence, this proves that the video is from India and the crowd is not celebrating PM Modi’s victory.
