Veteran action director and filmmaker Veeru Devgan passes away

Actor Ajay Devgn’s father and veteran action choreographer, filmmaker Veeru Devgan passed away on Monday morning.

His funeral will be held at 6 pm in Mumbai’s Vile Parle West crematorium. Veeru Devgan is a known name in films and was 77 at the time of his passing.

He choreographed stunts in over 150 films. He also ventured into filmmaking and directed Hindustan Ki Kasam in 1999, starring Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan, Manisha Koirala and Sushmita Sen.

He is also credited with being the brain behind Ajay’s grand entry in films and the famous stunt of ‘Phool Aur Kaante’. He was seen on screen for the first time riding on two bikes simultaneously balancing his legs on both. This was one of the most iconic stunts of the 90s.

Veeru Devgan is survived by his wife Veena and four children, Ajay, Anil, Neelam and Kavita.
