In a reflection that India’s political landscape was taking a right turn in the states as well. The two weeks long political drama in Karnataka ended on an expected note with H.D. Kumaraswamy led JD (S)-Congress coalition losing the trust vote in the Karnataka assembly.

BJP led by BS Yeddyurappa is all set to form the new Government in Karnataka.

What happens now?

A new Government in Karnataka led by the BJP is likely to work in coordination with the centre to work on an agenda for governance for the state which is home to many startups and large MNC’s.

Political stability and ensuring a corruption-free government should be the priority for the new Government.

It helps BJP’s ambition of a Southern surge with a crucial state joining the saffron bandwagon.

An opposition may cry foul and may stall the Parliament but the loss is a big setback for the Congress which now has a government in only 5 states now (MP, Chhatisgarh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Pondicherry.
