Old video shared as protests in Kashmir over scrapping of Article 370; here’s the fact check

Date:

Amid the scrapping of Article 370, a video has surfaced on the social media in which a mob can be seen holding a protest and it has been claimed that “Hundreds of thousands of Kashmiris took street yesterday in Indian occupied Kashmir to liberate their land from India… One of Kashmiris requested to spread this video all over the world as Indian media did not cover such a huge rally. So, please share as much as possible.”

FACT CHECK

Team of fact-checkers at NewsMobile checked the above post and found that the claim attached with the video is FAKE.

On putting the keyframes of the video through Reverse Image Search, we came across the same video posted on a YouTube Channel PMLN Videos on December 12, 2018.

Hence, the above information proves that the viral video is on the internet since December 2018, much before the Article 370 was revoked. Therefore, the protest in the video is not against government’s move of scrapping Article 370.
