Students protest against dress code diktat in Hyderabad college

Several students of the St. Francis College in Hyderabad on Monday held a protest against the college’s new dress code order that was imposed on Friday.

The college had asked the girl students to wear only below the knee-length dress. The decision dubbed as ‘moral policing’ was slammed by students and activists across the spectrum.

At least 150 students holding placards protested outside the campus on Monday morning.

Earlier on Friday, several students were stopped by security guards who told them that their kurtis were an inch above the knee and thus would not be allowed to attend classes.
