Maharashtra, Haryana assembly elections dates haven’t been announced, here’s the truth!

Date:

Several posts are being circulated on Facebook claiming that the Election Commission has announced the dates of the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections.

According to the schedule, the code of conduct will come into force on 20 September, the last day to fill up the forms is 27 September, voting will begin on 15 October and the counting will begin on 19 October 2019.

We found a similar post on Facebook that claims that dates for both the Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly elections have been announced.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile visited the Election Commission’s official website and couldn’t find any announcements or notices stating the dates for the 2019 Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly elections.

Also, no reputed media organization has reported the same.

Meanwhile, we found that the voting and counting dates going viral on social media are from the 2014 assembly elections.

Hence, the above information proves that viral post is FAKE.
