Daughter-in-law accuses retired HC Judge, son of domestic violence; releases CCTV footage

A CCTV footage has emerged of retired Hyderabad High Court Justice Nooty Ramamohana Rao, and his son beating up his son’s wife, The News Minute reported on Friday. The video appears to have been shot in April.

Sindhu Sharma, the complainant says that the incident dates back to April 20, 2019, the sate is seen on the frame of the camera footage. After the woman was allegedly assaulted, she says she had approached the police and lodged a complaint against her husband and in-laws. Since then, the case has been under trial.

Video came to light after Sindhu Sharma’s husband filed for a divorce in the court. In his plea, the retired judge’s son claimed that he was innocent and that he wanted his marriage with Sindhu Sharma to be dissolved. Sindhu then furnished the said footage to show how she had been beaten before two small children (aged about two and four, respectively) seen in the frame as they too try to free Sindhu from the abuse.

Sharma then brought forth the CCTV footage of her being assaulted. In the video of the incident, Sharma’s mother-in-law is seen signalling her to get out of the house as her father-in-law walks in her direction. Her husband is seen standing near the main door of the house. Pet dog of the family is also seen sitting in the same room.

As far as the status of the case is concerned, only serving a notice under Section 41 CrPC to Nooty Ramamohana Rao was left. The next hearing is scheduled for September 23.”
