Apple growers of Jammu and Kashmir stand tall against Pakistan state sponsored terrorism

Date:

The cowardly acts of Pakistan and its stooges has refused to deter the Apple growers of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, even as 400 trucks laden with the juicy fruit have left the state and are reaching different markets across the country and world.

Terrorists belonging to the Lashkar e Taiba and Hizbul Mujhaideen have already killed 3 innocent persons associated with Apple trade from outside the state.

The security agencies have been directed by Satyapal Malik, the Governor to take adequate measures and ensure the security of the people.

The worst hit district appears to be Shopian in South Kashmir. Only 2381 boxes have been ferried in just one truck till October 10th.

Satya Pal Malik. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir

The government had announced the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) to procure the Apples from the farmers at a price slightly above the market rate. However, data shows that the farmers prefer selling it to dealers from places such as Delhi as they have doing so for a long time. This clearly shows that the market is alive and government intervention was only to re assure the people.

Author Priyajit Debsarkar says that “Pakistan clearly cannot see a prosperous Jammu and Kashmir and only seeks its destruction and sorrow. However, the present government will destroy the land of pure terror”.
