Delhi: BJP leader Vijay Goel issued challan for violating odd-even rule

Date:

New Delhi: BJP leader Vijay Goel, who left his house in an odd-numbered car to protest against the odd-even scheme, issued a challan for violation of the scheme on Monday.

Describing the scheme as a political gimmick, Goel said: “This scheme is just a gimmick, they (Delhi government) themselves say pollution is due to stubble burning, then how does this scheme help? I am ready to pay the fine for violation.”

The BJP leader also said in a tweet, “Vehicles contribute to 28% of pollution levels in Delhi, in which cars contribute only 3%. This comes to cars contributing 0.84% to total Delhi pollution which means this #OddEven is leaving 99.58% causative agents of Delhi pollution untouched. #OddEvenNatak.”

While Deputy Delhi CM Manish Sisodia rode a bicycle to work, CM Arvind Kejriwal shared an even-numbered car with cabinet colleagues Gopal Rai and Satyender Jain.
