#IndvsBan: Bangladesh beats India to record maiden T20I win

Date:

Mushfiqur Rahman single-handedly fired Bangladesh to their maiden T20 win over India with an unbeaten 60, as the smog-hit series opener on November 3.

Chasing a 149 on a two-paced wicket, Bangladesh kept the pace with the run-rate and chased down the total with three balls to spare.

With Bangladesh needing 22 off the last 12 balls, Rahim (60 not out off 43) smashed four boundaries off as many balls in the penultimate over bowled by Khaleel Ahmed to tilt the game in his team’s favour.

He and Soumya Sarkar (39 off 35 balls) added 60 runs for the third wicket to steer Bangladesh closer to victory.

In a spirited bowling effort, Bangladesh did not allow the Indian batsmen to get away and kept trying harder to dent India’s run rate.

Shikhar Dhawan top-scored with 41 of 42 balls. Aminul Islam and Shafiul Islam were the pick of the bowlers with two wickets each.

The second T20 will be played in Rajkot on November 7.
