FACT CHECK
Team of fact-checkers at NewsMobile checked the above posts and found the claims attached with the picture to be FAKE.
On putting the picture through a simple Reverse Image Search, we found that the viral picture is NOT from the recent JNU protests. It is a three-year-old picture which was taken during a protest over the death of scholar Rohith Vemula.
We came across an article dated February 2nd, 2016 on Catch News which features the same picture.
On digging further, we also found another picture from the same protest on the official page of Students Federation of India’s (SFI) JNU unit in which the same placard can be seen.
In conclusion, it is proved that the claim attached to the viral picture is false as the picture is from 2016.
