Won’t support CAB in Rajya Sabha unless things are clear: Uddhav Thackeray

Date:

Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray said on Tuesday that they will not give support to the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill (CAB) in the Rajya Sabha unless things are clear.

His comments came a day after Shiv Sena supported the Bill in the Lok Sabha, and the Bill was passed on Tuesday midnight.

Speaking about his former ally BJP, Thackeray further said: “Anyone who disagrees is a deshdrohi (traitor) is their (BJP) illusion. We have suggested changes in Citizenship Amendment Bill we want in Rajya Sabha. It is an illusion that only BJP cares for the country.”

“If any citizen is afraid of this Bill than one must clear their doubts. They are our citizens so one must answer their questions too,” he added.
