US Prez Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump conclude their 2-day visit as they depart from Delhi

Following the dinner banquet at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump concluded their two-day visit to India as they departed from New Delhi.

US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were received at the Rashtrapati Bhawan by President Ram Nath Kovind and his wife Savita Kovind in the evening, where a dinner banquet was hosted by the President in the honour of the US President.

Earlier in the day, on being asked about CAA, Donald Trump said, “Don’t want to say anything on this. I want to leave that to India and hopefully they will make the right decision for their people.”

Trump said “I discussed it with PM Modi. Anything we can do to mediate, I will do it. Kashmir obviously is a big problem between India and Pakistan, they are going to work out their problem.

“We discussed terrorism at great length. PM Modi is a very calm man but he is a very tough man. He will take care of terrorism”, he added.

In the joint statement, US President Donald Trump said, “Earlier today, we expanded our defence cooperation with agreements for India to purchase more than US$ 3 Bn of advanced American military equipment, including Apache & MH-60 Romeo Helicopters – finest in the world. These will enhance our joint defence capabilities.”

While Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the strengthening in defence ties between India and US is an important aspect of our partnership.
