This viral video is NOT from China and it has no connection with Coronavirus outbreak

Amid the outbreak of Coronavirus, a video is making rounds on social media in which police personnel can be seen charging at a group of people at a metro station. It has been claimed that the police is nabbing those who are suspected of being infected with coronavirus in China.

The caption in Hindi read: “हम यहां बैठकर.. व्हाट्सएप और फेसबुक पर.. *कोरोना वायरस* का मजाक उड़ाने में लगे हुए हैं 🤔

NewsMobile fact-checked the above video and found that the claims attached to the video are false.

On extracting the keyframes of the video and putting them through Reverse Image Search, we found the same video on Twitter dated September 01, 2019.

On further investigation, we found a detailed report on the official YouTube channel of South China Morning Post dated September 01, 2019. According to the report, the video was shot on Hong Kong’s MTR network.

Hence, the above information proves that the viral video is NOT from China and it has no connection with Coronavirus outbreak.
