Class 12th boy commits suicide in upscale Gurgaon condominium

In an unfortunate event, a teenage boy, died after jumping from the 11th floor of his Gurgaon apartment building on Tuesday. He was a student of class 12th at a well-known private school in the city.

The Gurgaon police has confirmed the death and said the incident took place at an upscale residential condominium called the Carlton Estate, DLF Phase 5. There was no note or any other information that was recovered from the spot. The police have, however, obtained his mobile and will be tracing for any clues.

There were allegations of sexual assault that had been made by a girl on social media, which could have been a reason for the suicide. However, there has been no official confirmation on this.

The school where the boy studied has expressed grief over his demise.
“We are extremely shocked and saddened by the sudden death of one of our students under unfortunate circumstances. At this stage, we as a school together, with our extended community, truly believe that it is the time to grieve this incommensurable loss that has hit our community,” the school said in a statement. They further added, “Our deepest and heartfelt condolences are with the family of the young and bright student we have lost; as we know, there are no means for us to fathom the anguish and grief they are facing.”

In the past few days, the news of the ‘Bois Locker Room’ Instagram account has already created a furore and the Delhi police are now investigating the matter. NewsMobile had also spoken to some students as also one of the victims of the chat group to find out ways that can help ensure such incidents do not get repeated.

The police have ruled out any foul play during the preliminary investigation.

The young death also sparks a debate about the need for mental health education amongst the young. With the advent of technological accesses and competition, the need to train young students on being mentally strong and stable becomes that much more crucial. Guardians, parents and schools should ensure enough weightage is given and time is spent on such guidance.
