The economic package can be a game changer: NewsMobile EIC on Arnab Goswami’s debate

Date:

The economic package and slew of measures announced by the government are a ‘game-changer’ and should be welcomed, said NewsMobile Editor-in-Chief Saurabh Shukla on Friday.

“This package is a game-changer, we have to welcome it. Wait for it to be executed, this is not the time for petty politics”, said Shukla on Arnab Goswami’s debate on Republic TV.

Taking on the name-calling – ‘jumla’, ‘voodoo economy’, ‘TV Serial’- the NM editor-in-chief questioned whether the opposition is against the idea of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ or self-reliant India.

“Are they saying that they are against ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’, are they against the farmers, migrants and the MSMEs?”, said Shukla as he added that ‘they shouldn’t argue for the sake of arguing’.

“We are in the grip of a global crisis, the government has announced a slew of measures- you should be welcoming it. Yes, point out holes if it is not implemented, but this is not your national interest coming to the fore, rather your petty politics coming to the fore”, said Shukla as he said that everything that the government does can’t be questioned before it is implemented.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, on Friday, specified that on the third day, the focus was on agriculture, food processing and allied activities, that are the backbone of the country.

This was the third in the series of press conferences meant to outline India’s efforts to reboot its economy that has been hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
