Pakistani Cricketer Shahid Afridi tested positive for COVID-19

Former Pakistan cricketer, Shahid Afridi has been tested positive for COVID-19. He took it to Twitter to break the news and asked his fans to pray for him.

“I’ve been feeling unwell since Thursday; my body had been
aching badly. I’ve been tested and unfortunately, I’m COVID positive. Need prayers for a speedy recovery,
InshaAllah,” he tweeted.

Afridi had been doing a lot of charity work throughout the country with his foundation “Hope Not Out”. The foundation has helped thousands of poor families with essential supplies over the course of the pandemic. Indian cricketers Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh had also backed and promoted Afridi’s foundation and the work is done by them before relations turned sour over Afridi’s controversial remarks about the PoK.

Recently, the former all-rounder had been a pivotal part of PCB’s much-needed transition to appoint an all-cricket coaching staff. He had praised the board’s move to appoint Younis Khan as the batting coach for the upcoming England tour. He had said on his youtube channel that “This is a show of cricketers and it is better if it’s run by them. All are sincere and have great individual performances when it comes to cricket or coaching. I am hopeful that they will do their jobs in the best possible manner,”
Afridi is the second international cricketer from Pakistan to test positive for COVID-19 after recently diagnosed He has recovered from the disease already. Other cricketers who’ve also been diagnosed include South Africa’s Solo Nqweni & Scotland’s Majid Haq.
