Fact Check: Video of a truck accident is NOT from India; here’s the truth

A video of a horrific accident is being circulated on social media with a claim that it happened in Mysuru road in Karnataka.

“This Is In Mysore Road..Near Kengeri. Just Now Recorded, ” the caption read. The same video incidentally had been shared many times over.

FACT CHECK 

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral video and found the claim to be false.

On extracting the keyframes and then putting them through Reverse Image Search, we found the same video on the YouTube channel of Ruptly dated June 17, 2020.

“*DISTRESSING CONTENT* Russia: Fatal truck crash caught on CCTV in Chelyabinsk, ” the video title read.


Based on that, we ran a search and found several media reports on the same. Check the reports here and here.

The above information confirms that the video is NOT from India’s Mysuru.
