The new coronavirus strain detected in the UK is said to be more contagious than other strains of the virus. The first case of the newfound strain in India was detected last week after a traveller who had returned from the UK tested positive for it.

Meanwhile, after four new cases of the strain were detected in the country on Friday, India’s total case tally rose to 29.
