India Fastest Country To Administer 3 Million COVID-19 Vaccines: Health Ministry

In just 13 days, India vaccinated over three million people, the fastest in the world, as per the health ministry.

The ministry added that more than 4,40,600 people were vaccinated till 7 PM on Friday, which was the 14th day of the pan India coronavirus vaccination drive.

The health ministry data reveals that a total of 33,68,734 people in the country have received COVID vaccine shots till 7 PM on Friday.

Apart from this, 213 adverse events following immunisation (AEFIs) were reported in the country till 7 PM on Friday, the health ministry said.

According to the provisional report, the state-wise number of beneficiaries who have received COVID-19 vaccination is as follows:

Andhra Pradesh: 1,77,856

Bihar: 1,10,381

Kerala: 1,35,832

Karnataka: 3,07,752

Madhya Pradesh: 2,22,193

Maharashtra: 2,57,173

Tamil Nadu: 97,126

Delhi: 48,008

Gujarat: 2,16,004

Uttar Pradesh: 4,31,879

West Bengal: 2,20,356

Notably, the first phase of the pan-India COVID-19 vaccination drive was launched on January 16 in which frontline workers are being inoculated.
