As the second phase of the vaccination drive across the country begins,people aged between 45-60 years can now register themselves to get vaccinated.
With this comes the decision of Bihar government to inoculate the citizens of the state for free. The newly formed Nitish Kumar government has decided to bear the entire cost of the coronavirus vaccination even at the private hospitals in the state.
The central government has capped the cost of vaccines at private facilities at Rs 250 per dose.
This was a promise made by the NDA govt. during the election campaigning to inoculate people for free, if their govt comes to power.

Taking its poll promise to provide free vaccines to all, the cabinet approved the proposal to provide free vaccine.
In a meeting chaired by CM Nitish Kumar on Sunday, the state government decided that vaccines will be given free of cost to people even at private hospitals.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will also take the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine today as the next phase of the vaccination drive for people above 60 years and those aged 45 and above with comorbidities begins.
