Mumbai Police hits on every opportunity to turn a meme or viral content into a meaningful message. This time too, it has thrown a playful twist to a widely shared clip from the ongoing Australian Open.

In a recent video from the Australian Open 2022, a bug startled the ball girl during the tournament, following that, Stefanos Tsitsipas, a Greek player, rushed to her help.

The police, bringing their humour game, tagging the girl as ‘Mumbaikars’ and the bug as ‘anti-social elements’, and tagged itself to Tsitsipas, who rushes in as the rescuer in times of distress.

“We are here to always protect you from ‘close-calls’, to ‘serve’ you to the best of our abilities, Mumbai. Thank you for supporting us with ‘open’ hearts!” it captioned the post.

The incident occurred during Tsitsipas’ fourth-round match against Taylor Fritz. Following the broadcaster’s interest in the clip, the organizers uploaded it on their social media accounts, leading netizens to hail Tsitsipas as a “hero”.
