Recently, a short video clip featuring late Bollywood actor Om Puri has surfaced on social media platforms wherein he purportedly says that everyone should adopt Islam because there is no other true religion.
A Facebook user shared the video with a caption in Hindi that translates to, “The whole world should accept Islam and there should be Islam in the whole world, there should be no other religion because Islam is the true religion.”

On performing relevant keyword searches, we found longer version of the video uploaded on YouTube on October 20, 2016.
At 2:23 mark in the video, the interviewer asks Om Puri about image of Muslims in India and western countries. To this Om Puri replies and says that impression was created about Muslims in India that they are extremists and that they think there should be no other religion except Islam and that the whole world should accept it. He later goes on to say that the impression created about Muslims is not true and also adds that he is a Hindu by religion.
The video shows an interview with Om Puri that was originally uploaded on the Duniya News YouTube page on March 27, 2014. The relevant section can be found at the 13:48 mark in the video.
Hence, therefore, with the above information, it can be concluded that manipulated video of late actor Om Puri is being shared with a false claim.
