Fact Check: No, This Viral Clip On Facebook Is Not From Movie ‘The Kashmir Files’

Recently, a 11-minute-long video has surfaced on social media platforms with a claim that the clip is from the recently released ‘The Kashmir Files’ movie.

A Facebook user shared the video clip with the caption in Hindi saying, “Watch The Kashmir Files Movie First Time On Facebook.”

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the claim and found it to false.

On performing Reverse Image Search, we found the longer version of the video uploaded on a YouTube channel on April 21, 2020. The title of the video read, “Mudda Article-370, 35A J&K / Full Hindi Movie / Latest Movie 2020.”

As per the description of the video, “Mudda 370 J&K is a movie starring Raj Zutshi, Manoj Joshi, Zarina Wahab. The movie is about brewing tension between Hindus and Muslims in Kashmir. The movie touches on the sensitive topic of Article 370. The film is directed by Rakesh Sawant.”

We checked further and found more details about the movie on The Times of India website. The movie was released on December 13, 2019. As per the details, the movie revolves around the situation in Kashmir during 1980s and 1990s and Article 370.

Therefore, with the above information, it can be concluded that the viral claim is false.
