FACT CHECK

NewsMobile did a fact-check and found the claim to be fake.

On doing a Google Reverse Image Search with the image, we found that the same image was tweeted by a Maharashtra Minister Prof. Varsha Eknath Gaikwad on April 27, 2018, with a caption that read, “Big mistake by #Maharastra Govt. @MahaDGIPR magazine #MaharashtraAhead wrongly prints Congress Leader Late Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh’s childhood pic as #DrAmbedkar‘s childhood pic.”

News 24 also reported on April 28, 2018, that the Maharashtra government mistakenly printed photo of former state Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh in place of Ambedkar’s image.

Therefore, with the above information, it can be concluded that the viral claim is fake.
