Umran, Arshdeep Get Maiden Call For T20 Series Against South Africa

Date:

New Delhi: The BCCI has announced the squad for the Indian side in the upcoming T20 series against South Africa and test series against England.

IPL sensations Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh made it to the headlines as they got their maiden call to join the squad for the T20 series against South Africa.

Umran Malik, one of the most acknowledged players of the ongoing IPL season, makes his way into the International squad with performance and pace.

At the end of his campaign in the IPL, Umran bagged 22 wickets in 14 innings and bowled with an economy rate of 9.03. Umran came under the spotlight after he clocked 157 kmph while bowling this season.

Arshdeep Singh, playing for Punjab Kings, had an exceptional run in this season of IPL. Singh bagged 10 wickets in 14 innings but was one of the economical options for his side. Young Singh has shown his temperament and consistency by bowling and executing plans in the death overs of the game.

Meanwhile, veteran Dinesh Karthik is all set to make a comeback after an impactful season in the IPL. Led by KL Rahul, the squad also includes Avesh Khan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, and Hardik Pandya.

However, with Sanju Samson and Rahul Tripathi’s name missing from the list has left crickets experts in shock.

Rahul Tripathi is considered to be one of the most underrated cricketers in the country. Tripathi had a great run in this season of IPL with 413 runs in 14 innings. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson had a decent season with 374 runs in the league games.

Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Rohit Sharma were given some time off after a tiring season of IPL and international games.

The T20 series is all set to start on 9th June with the first game to be played in Delhi
