IPL 2022: Royal Challengers Bangalore Beat Lucknow Super Giants By 14 Runs In Eliminator Round

Kolkata: Royal Challengers Bangalore crushed Lucknow Supergiants by 14 runs and made their way into the next round of eliminators where they will face Rajasthan Royals. 

Royal Challengers Bangalore batting first lost an early wicket with Skipper Faf du Plessis getting dismissed without opening his innings. Virat Kohli got out after scoring 25 runs. Rajat Patidar took charge of the innings and played a remarkable inning of 115 runs in just 54 deliveries. Dinesh Karthik contributed 37 runs in just 23 deliveries taking the total to 207 runs for Lucknow SuperGiants to chase. 

Lucknow Supergiants failed to build a partnership at the start of the innings. However, skipper KL Rahul managed to score 79 runs but couldn’t convert his innings into a win and got dismissed at the crucial stage of the 18th over. Josh Hazlewood wrapped the innings and secured victory after picking two crucial wickets in the 18th over. 

Mohd Siraj and Harshal Patel bagged one wicket each in the game. Young gun Rajat Patidar played one of the most crucial knocks of his career and helped his side reach the final round of the qualifier.
