IMD Issues Orange Alert In Maharashtra Over Rainfall

Mumbai: Amid the advancement and arrival of monsoon in several parts of the country, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) issued an orange alert for rainfall in several parts of Maharashtra and urged the authorities to be prepared for the next five days.

The RMC further forecasted an instance of heavy rainfall in Mumbai on Thursday and said that Sindhudurg can expect rainfall even today. The report further added that a few spells of rainfall might pour in Ratnagiri for the next three days.

Mumbai was issued with a yellow alert for rainfall over the next three days. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicted heavy rainfall along the ghats of Maharashtra from Friday to Sunday this week.

IMD further predicted instances of heavy rainfall likely over Gangetic West Bengal on 22nd, Bihar between 23rd to 26th, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Chattisgarh between 22nd to 26th of June.
